God's Gift of Children

Sara and I were twenty and nineteen years old when we got married. A couple of weeks after the wedding we found out that we were pregnant. We praise the Lord that three and a half years later the Lord has given us two baby girls, and we pray that more babies may come in the future! I pray that these artworks would be used to encourage children, as well as parents, to know and obey the Lord.

“Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them! He shall not be put to shame When he speaks with his enemies in the gate" (Psalm 127:3-5).

 

Christian parent, you as a believer are the "warrior" this verse speaks about, and your children are your ammunition for battle. Will you enter the war without sharpening them in the Word? Without sharing the Gospel with them and living it out so that they could have an example in you to follow? The verse also says, “Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” I pray that you would consider bringing more arrows into your quiver. Alas, the world kills babies and indoctrinates the ones they do not kill to hate Christ. Oh that we would be strengthened, encouraged, and stirred into action to raise many for His glory!
